Baby showers are such an important part of any persons life. It is like a ‘bucks’ or ‘hens’ night out before marriage. It is a fun party, just before the baby is born to celebrate its oncoming arrival and to highlight the good times that are coming in the next few years. So to make a baby shower fun, there has to be gross baby shower games involved. This makes it so much more enjoyable than the regular games like pin the diaper on the baby, or bottle bowling. Gross baby shower games involve the gross things about having a baby that can be made hilarious when put into the format of a game.

One of the most popular gross baby shower games is ‘dirty diaper’, where the participants have to guess what is in the diaper, by feeling it, smelling it, even tasting it. You may be thinking that this is a disgusting thing to do, but there is actually just melted chocolate bars in the diapers, which look like you know what. The contestants then have to guess which type of chocolate bar it is, which doesn’t sound like such a terrible task, but when you see a diaper with brown runny gooey stuff in it, you will be thinking differently about the whole situation.

This is just one of many gross baby shower games in which everyone has an incredibly fun time full of laughter and usually inappropriate jokes. Some other gross baby shower games are ‘Guess the Baby Food’ which isn’t so much gross, as it is messy. In this game the contestants form pairs, usually male and female, then one person in the pair feeds the other person baby food while they are blindfolded. This can turn into one of the more gross baby shower games, because being at a party, it can get pretty immature, and the food will gradually get worse and worse as the game goes on, but this does create a lot of laughter in other contestants, so it makes a very fun and interesting gross baby shower game.

You can obviously imagine that gross baby shower games are an essential edition to any good baby shower, as they provide everything that is needed in an amazing and memorable party. There is a new baby on the way and you are the delegated host of the baby shower. This is an old tradition and now your turn has arrived to plan and carry out a baby shower to be proud of. One of the great parts to this honor is that you get to plan the baby shower games as well but this can be very stressful for some people. Could I interest you in a few ideas?

Traditional Baby Shower Games

Some of the more traditional baby shower games are still the favorites today. One very popular game is to have the guest bring unlabeled baby pictures of themselves and place these on a table or a magnetic board. When all the guest arrive and all the pictures are posted, try to guess who the baby in the pictures has grown up to be. This can be a fun and ,often, comical baby shower game as babies choose some of the most adorable and laughable faces and poses you could imagine.

Another great game is Name the Baby. In this game, start with the letter A and say a baby name that begins with this letter, such as Abigail. The next player would say a name that begins with the letter B and so on. Each player has a few seconds to come up with a name before the game moves on so be prepared if your turn is close to the end of the alphabet. A little hint, Xerxes and Zeus, while not traditional, are both legitimate names if you get caught up in this game.

Not So Traditional Baby Shower Games

What about some fun baby shower games that are not the same games your mother played at her baby shower? We have those too and we are happy to share the ideas for these great baby shower games with you as well.

One of my personal favorites has always been Pin the Diaper on the Baby. Of course, you could pin a baby bottle instead if the thought of a bare baby bottom strikes you as politically incorrect. For this game, have a picture of a baby on the wall about shoulder height for your shortest player. Make your diaper or baby bottle cut outs and apply a ring of tape to the back of each one after the player have written their names on their playing pieces. Game play consist of blindfolding each guest in turn and spinning them three to four time to disorientate them before asking them to place the diaper or bottle cut out on the baby picture. This is a great baby shower game and is always a lot of fun to see just how good you are going to be for that 2 am diaper change and feeding session when you can’t hold your eyes open.

Baby shower games for the office are those games that are used when throwing a baby shower in the workplace. The office has become a much friendlier place in recent years and is where many friendships are formed due to constant close proximity to one another. So when a co-worker is having a baby, its is not uncommon to host the baby shower at the office. If you stick to baby shower games for the office like these, the event is sure to be a great success.

To organise the baby shower games for the office, you may need to enlist the help of some friends or co-workers, as it can be quite a stressful task to set up the perfect party alone. It is an event that usually only occurs a couple of times in a persons life, so you have to make sure it’s special.
